The Interloper

Hi everyone it’s Ruby here!

I need to tell you about a strange interloper in our midst…

I know: it’s a tree – but it’s inside! Has the world turned upside down? I know that things have been a bit topsy-turvy lately – did you know that there are little balls of ice falling outside? Plus some of them are coming down the chimneys and landing in the fireplaces and making pinging noises as they land – one even hit Oliver on the head! But this is too much – where will it all end?

I had to give it the paw-whap just to make sure I wasn’t seeing things! The branches are a bit sticky – ewww!

Rose took it a step further and swallowed one of the needles – she says it was pointy and not very tasty.

I think I’ll just keep an eye on it from here.

Oliver of course was too busy snoozing upstairs to even notice the tree until this evening – and even then he didn’t seem to mind it being here.

He was far more interested in the angel on the mantelpiece.

As for me – I want to know what’s inside this box!

  1. Miss Ruby, I hope that what is in the box is a gift for deserving cats. And you assuredly fill the bill.

  2. What is the world coming to? Trees inside and attacking ice!?! Are you sure you’re not hitting the nip a wee bit too hard, Ruby?

  3. You three are amazingly good. Don’t you know that tree’s for climbing? Heh heh. And wait till you see all the decorations on it! A toy bonanza!

  4. The tree is inside the house because it is a fun toy for kitties. They are good for practicing your climbing skills, and when the decorations go on you have lots of new toys to whap and play with.

  5. The boxes and the wrapping are the best things about Christmas. The tree thing is kind of weird, if you ask me.

  6. To tree or not to tree…we are still debating what to do this Christmas because Kip is so new to the house and young. Well done to Ruby, Rose and Oliver for taking the tree in stride, hopefully they maintain their cool when the baubles make an appearance 🙂

Ruby, Oliver and Rose, I would thoroughly recommend asking your guardians to get you some nip/valerian products from here for Xmas: http://www.happyhousecats.co.uk/

Our Mum would love to get some for us as they’re all handmade and tested on bengals, but customs won’t allow it into the country. *sad kitty faces*

  8. Wait until you see what your beans do next to the interloper!

Dear Ruby, I think you could be needed by your siblings for further inspections. I hope it this will be followed by some fun as you are already fascinated by the pretty boxes.

XXXXX to you all, Michelle ( Zebby Cat is soundly sleeping just now, building up his strength for his Sunday daylight snoozles)

  9. Ruby, we agree a tree in the hosue is a bit strange but just wait! Pretty soon we bet you’ll see lots of fun toys hanging off it 😀 We’re with Sparkle, the boxes and papers are the best thing about this time of year! Have fun!

    Pip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie

  10. We are sending Grete woofie out today to hunt a tree for us…soon we’ll have a tree inside too!

  11. Just be a little patient! It may well turn into the best toy ever……

    Purrs,
    The Chans

  12. Just wait until the tree gets COVERED in fun toys to whap!
