Hi everyone it’s Ruby! Look what Scott bought me! This book is proving very informative whilst we watch Bird TV.
As I look out the upstairs window I make notes about the birds I see.
This one is called a Blue Tit and we spot many of these. As they are so small they really give me and Oliver the chatters. I bet they’re delicious!
Today we also saw a Robin with its distinctive red breast.
This is a Wood Pigeon. We usually see these out the back where the bird feeder is. They are HUGE!
My new book also gives lots of information about birds generally. Did you know that the study of birds is called Ornithology? Anyway, I must get back to my studies. I will keep you informed of other birds as I spot them.
The Oliver and Ruby Chronicles 
I used to have a great birding book which had an index with little boxes beside each bird so you could tick off those who visited your garden. If you book doesn’t have that feature it would be fun to keep a list Ruby 🙂
Ruby, we love studying birdothology, too. We see quail often on our hikes and also doves. They make a sweet sound…

We were watching a doco on tv and they mentioned a blue tit. The human teenagers of the house found that absolutely hilarious.

What an awesome book! Although I imagine it does not describe how each bird tastes.
Ruby, you have such a tastey…er…we mean beautiful collection of birdies to watch! Your book is very cool. you could even keep a backyard birders survey and birdcount if you have an ornithology chapter in your area 🙂

Jewel chitters rather than chatters. And the birdies that visit here are different but they are all yummy (we mean beautiful).
Purrhaps you could do a bird identity class for us Ruby.

That’s a lovely book, Ruby! We have those same birds in ourgarden and we love to watch them. Our feeder also attracts lots of great tits, green finches, goldfinches and chaffinches!
